How to Cook a Hidden Camp Farm Organic Pastured Turkey

- 1 Hidden Camp Farm Fresh Organic Pastured Turkey
- Hidden Camp Farm Raw Salted Butter
- Organic Olive Oil
- 2 Tbsp. organic dried rosemary
- 4 tsp. ground sage
- 4 tsp. dried thyme
- 3 tsp. sea salt
- 3 tsp. black pepper
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
Remove giblets and neck from inside of turkey.
Clean by washing with cold water inside and out.
In a small mixing bowl, combine seasonings.
Run your fingers under the skin on top of the breast as far back as possible. Insert small chunks of butter between the skin and the breast. Rub organic olive oil over the entire turkey. Then rub seasoning mixture inside and out. Place turkey in a roasting pan. If stuffing turkey, stuff loosely before putting in the oven.
Place turkey into preheated oven un-covered.
For the first hour, roast at 375 degrees F. After 30 minutes of cooking, turn the temperature down to 325 degrees F. Baste every 30 minutes with drippings from bottom of pan.
If turkey skin is golden brown, make a foil tent to cover. This step varies and may not be necessary. Typically happens after 60-75 minutes of cooking.
Use meat thermometer to check temperature in thigh-165 degrees F means done!
Remove turkey from oven, let sit for 30 minutes. Remove stuffing and enjoy!
